The curtain wall
and cladding works on a large project is undertaken by specialist
contractors. To ensure a fair and competitive quotation the consultant can
prepare specification and tender concept drawings for pricing. The
submitted tenders are compared and successful tenders interviewed. Workshop
drawings are reviewed and site supervision with final inspection and report
can be undertaken.
It is our
experience that when a curtain wall contract is executed in this way with
full supervision, very few problems arise and remedial works are minimal.
2. Consultant in the
Design of Testing Facilities
Over the past years
Mr. Leung has designed flexible test facilities to be used in Hong Kong,
China or other Asian countries such that curtain walls, cladding and windows
can be tested to the requirements of international standards. These tests
include air infiltration, water penetration, wind pressure and seismic
simulations. Special hardware and software has been developed to
economically and accurately record the results of the test through a
computer. Four Government accredited curtain wall testing facilities in
China were designed by Mr. Leung & have been in operation since 1995.
Facilities are used
to test vertical, corner or inclined units and can be adopted to test any
cladding profile or skylight systems.

The solid
experience enables Mr Leung to provide concept design, fully design or to
comment on existing design for curtain wall and window contractors. The
consultant is also able to advise clients as to design or feature
improvements to meet specification requirements or to economic the aluminum
content or components.

Existing Building
Curtain Wall Survey and Investigation Works
As an on going service to the industry, the consultant has conducted
survey & investigation to curtain wall buildings with water leakage problem
or other defect. Special technique has been developed to suit the particular
need of each case after the initial inspection to identify the defect & the
most appropriate solution can be drawn.
